Communications - In order to create an extended network within the young adult population from this synod, multiple methods of communication are needed. This happens using mailings, email, newsletters and the internet.
Vocational Discernment Retreat - This ministry will sponsor two weekend long, vocational discernment retreats, at minimal cost to participants. These events will include trained leaders who have the gifts of discernment and wisdom to serve as spiritual guides for participants. Participants will also share their gifts and experiences with each other.
Immersion Experience - Young adults are overwhelmingly interested in social justice, service and advocacy. The Missing hopes to provide a point of engagement for this population to gain servant leadership skills along with experiencing life among those who are overlooked. Trips to La Frontera (the border ministries of the ELCA), Cristo Rey Ministries in El Paso, Texas and Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota will aid
The Missing in developing socially conscious individuals who live out their call to "do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with God."(Micah 6:8)
Leadership Team - The Missing is a piece of the effort of the Partnership for Youth & Family Ministry in creating a culture which nurtures active, vital living faith in every child, youth, young adult and adult. For more information contact
